Law-Enforcement Guidelines

These guidelines explain how KyberCrypt handles requests from law enforcement. We are committed to our users' privacy and will provide only what we are legally required to provide, and only the limited data we actually hold.

What we can and cannot provide

Content on the Service is end-to-end or at-rest encrypted and, for most flows, not readable by us. We generally cannot produce plaintext file contents or filenames. We may hold limited account and operational metadata (for example, an account's username, email address, and timestamps of activity), subject to our Data Retention Policy.

Legal process required

• Basic subscriber information — appropriate legal process such as a subpoena.
• Metadata / non-content records — a court order or equivalent, as applicable.
• Any content we may hold — a valid search warrant issued on probable cause, or its equivalent in the requesting jurisdiction.

How to submit

Send requests on official letterhead to legal@kybercrypt.com. We require sufficient detail to identify a specific account. Overbroad or facially invalid requests will be objected to or rejected.

Notice to users

Our policy is to notify affected users of requests for their data before disclosure, so they may seek to challenge it, unless we are legally prohibited from doing so or notice would be counterproductive in an emergency involving risk of serious harm.

Emergency requests

In emergencies involving an imminent risk of death or serious physical injury, we will review requests expeditiously and may disclose limited information we hold consistent with applicable law.
